Well, I did sell both the bow bouquet and bow basket I posted below at the auction on Sunday. That's the good news. The bad news is I didn't get nearly as much as I had hoped for them. The basket sold for the most at $25. The bow bouquet, however, only got one bid and sold at $10. Rats. It was worth so much more than that and I would have liked to earn more money for school. I had felt like our family had not done as much as we should have for the fundraiser this year and I wanted to do the auction as a last effort to do more. I'm thinking I may not do that again next year. I mean, shoot, it's a traditional Catholic parish...there are children everywhere! I put so many hours of work into it and I thought it would do better than that. Oh well. That's just the way it goes sometimes, I guess.

    Well that's a bummer. I'm sorry they didn't sell for more. I think right now, no one is thinking about how much time and effort you put into those items, they were only thinking, "Hmm... how little can I spend and make it appear that I'm doing something good?" Still sucks, though.

    Don't feel bad, Natalie! You earned money for the school that they didn't have! The items were adorable, but people go to these auctions to get a good deal on great products. I have donated items to auctions and have been embarrassed to see how much they went for--but the recipients are always pleased and they have always come back for more. Hold your head high, Mama!

    I'm sorry, Natalie. I think people are just more cautious w/their money right now and aren't spending on things. Your bouquet was GORGEOUS and you deserved much more!!!

    What a bummer! Those were some really cute bows! You really deserved more on those but people are being rather careful when it comes to spending these days. I would have bid on them.

    I can't believe that gorgeous bow bouquet didn't go for more than that. Someone got a bargain! I love the lady bug bow.
